This is something I made recently.

This is a prop for a video.

I make one-person videos, and this is a prop game I made for a future video. The table is made out of foam core board and is 12 inches square with 4 inch tall legs. I covered it with metallic poster board.

The layout of the game is very loosely based on the game of GO in which the pieces move from intersection to intersection instead of the squares. At the intersections i punched through to the bottom in order to make holes to put LEDs into.

I decided on a 4 by 4 grid which would accommodate 16 LEDs, and the string had more than 16 LEDs, so I made some UV resin geodes to mount the extra LEDs underneath them.

This is a string of LED lights I bought at half price a year back. It can light up a single color or flash multiple colors. I hot glued each of the LEDs into each one of the holes. The extra LEDs I glued into the center of four of the squares as they are not part of gameplay.

These are pics of the colors. They shine upwards through at the intersections.

Game Pieces.

The game pieces I made using clear UV resin: I used a hexagonal mold and a square mold to cast the pieces, then placed them into a circle mold to make a base for the pieces.

There are six of each game piece and I used foam core board to make the cases for them. One is covered with gold metallic poster board.

Game Set Up.

There are no real rules for this game: As it is meant to be a prop.

I set it up as one game piece to each of the outside squares, making 12 pieces in all. The way the game is played each piece has to move to an intersection, then can only move one intersection at a time, and the point of the game is to force the opponents pieces into being unable to move, and is taken out of play.

Game View in Darkness.

BUT this game was meant to be played in semi-darkness, and the clear game pieces pick up the light from the LEDs: And because the LED controller can have steady color OR flashing colors this looks very spectacular in the dark. The UV resin geodes I made only add to effect.

Inspiration of the Game.

This game was inspired by the Kansas music video, "Play The Game Tonight" in which they use a fantasy- inspired chess set, and a scene from "Batman Ninja" in which one of the villains is playing the Japanese game of "GO"... To which I added in some techo-wizard elements: Namely the LEDs and color-changing game pieces.

I haven't really decided what type of video to use it in.
