Mini Mini Golf

This is a mini mini golf hole. It uses a wood base and model grass and sand to create a fun playing space.

• 6" x 4" x 1/2" wood block
• 1" veneer
• Model Grass
• Sand
• Drill (1/4" drill bit)
• 1/16" metal dowel
• 1/2" x 1/2" aluminum block
• 1 Ball bearing
• Optional:
• Balsa wood
• Heat shrink tubing

Draw the shape of your course on the 6" x 4" x 1/2" block of wood. Cut it out using a scroll saw or a coping saw.

Using green paint or glue, paint the top side of the wood. Dust heavily with model grass and/or sand in desired areas. Lightly tap the wood to remove any excess grass or sand. Add more paint and grass if necessary.

Appropriately heat the back of the veneer until sticky. Then, wrap the side of the wood with the veneer, trying to avoid snapping the veneer. If necessary, cut the veneer and continue to wrap it from where you left off.

Using balsa wood or some other light material, cut three walls and a small base to contain the ball. Next, drill a 1/4" hole in the side of the wood adjacent to the hole. Ensure it is at an angle so the ball will roll down. Attach the well adjacent to the hole using glue.

Cut and sand the 1/2" by 1/2" aluminum to the shape of a putter. Drill a hole the size of your metal dowel in the top of the aluminum. Attach using epoxy or glue. Next, slide the heat shrink tube down the top of the metal dowel and use a heat gun to shrink it.

Cut or break a ball bearing open and remove the balls. Clean with water and a paper towel to use.

Place a ball down at the beginning of the course and play. Have fun!
