Make a small version of yourself by sewing a Mini-Me Doll. It is a fun, easy, activity and something to snuggle with in the cold of winter if you happen to find yourself alone!
I use both a sewing machine and hand stitching to create this doll.

Supplies

supplies.JPG
Fabric, 24X48 muslin (also assorted remnants for the clothing)
thread
needles
straight pins
ruler
sewing machine
light weight paper to make pattern
marker
inkjet phot otransfer paper
color inkjet printer
scissors
fiber fill
camera (or I used my photo-booth on my computer)
and an iron

Pattern for Body

Sewing

IMG_2959.JPG
I use a sewing machine to sew around the outside edge of the figure, leave an opening in the side to turn the fabric right side out and also to eventually stuff.

Turn

turn fabric of the figure right side out

Face

face photo.JPG
Get a photograph for the face, I used the photo-booth app on my computer, made the portrait and sent it to i-photo.

Printer

face printing.JPG
From i-photo I sent the image to my color ink jet printer. I printed it on iron on transfer paper.

Cut the Face

Making a Dress

dress pin pattern and cut dress.JPG
on folded fabric pin a dress pattern according to design and measurements mentioned, cut fabric.

Trim

dress turn under neck and sleeves, s.JPG
On wrong side of fabric, turn in an edge across the top or neckline of the dress,

Stitching

dress sew seams at shoulders.JPG
right sides together stitch about 2.5 inched across each shoulder area, then open fabric flat and turn up an edge around sleves as you did on the neck

Stitch Sides

dress stitch side seams and turn up a hem. .JPG
stitch the sides of the dress from the armpit to the hemline, then turn up a little edge around the bottom of the dress to make a hem.

More Clothing

finish dress.JPG
turn the dress right side out and dress your mini me doll. I like to tie a ribbon around the middle to act as a belt>

More Clothing

You can design and sew a lot of different outfits for yourself!
this is an example of a  lovely pants suit.
