Mini Fish Resin Diorama
I have always enjoyed making dioramas, and I just got interested in resin, so I thought to make a resin diorama. I was looking around on the web at resin dioramas, and I thought to make an ocean diorama.
Supplies
Small glass jar
Fish tank gravel
Plants used for models
Resin/epoxy resin
Orange and white modeling clay
Fake moss balls
Hot glue
The Gravel
Insert hot glue into bottom of jar. Immediately after hot glue is inserted, spill in gravel. Wait until the hot glue to dry, then put lid on. Turn upside down so lid can catch excess gravel. Repeat these previous steps until the desired amount of gravel is inside the jar.
Plants Pt 1
Hot glue bottom of fake vines and place upright inside jar in desired place. Keep adding plants until you have your desired amount.
Plants Pt 2
Fish
Search up an image of a clownfish and use it as a stencil, or use the pictures as a stencil. Assemble the pieces. Use a thin sharpie for details.
Resin
Mix resin, making sure to keep the proportions 1:1 for part A and B, to keep the resin clear. Pour resin halfway to the top, then insert the fish. Use a straw to keep it straight. Once the fish is straight, pour the rest of the resin in. Let the resin cure for 24 hours or until it is all solid.
Boat
Shape the blue clay into a boat shape. Shape the black clay into a post. Shape the red clay into two triangles. Assemble the pieces to look like a boat.
Finishing Touches
Hot glue the boat to the top of the cured resin.
