Mini Bicycle Card
A few months ago, i sold my Polygon Bend R2 bike due to financial constiction and i wasnt cycling all that much.. Then a few weeks ago i saw the big and small contest page i suddenly for no reason remembered my old bicycle.. As nostalgia memories kick in I began to think what i can make with the bicycle in mind.. and after a few days.. the mini bicycle card came to fruition.. using the same technique i made my mini catapult card i thought i should use it to turn it into a bicycle card..
So the bicycle card should have the same characteristic as my bend R2 since this is a dedication to the good old bike of mine.. although i didnt have time to find a filament that has the same color as my bike..
Difficulty level:
- 3D printing - Easy
- Assembly - Easy
- Wiring - Nope
- Painting - Nope - unnecessary
So let's get started..
Supplies
- cutter - to cut the parts and clean it up
- superglue - to glue some parts together
And of course a 3d printer - i'm currently 3d printing using BambuLab P1s printer.. you can find them here if you're interested.. these are my affliliate links to buy the printer..
Modelling With Tinkercad
modelling the bicycle was fairly easy using tinkercad but splitting the parts to make it flat for the card was a bit of a challenge.. i had to cut and resize some of the bicycle parts to fit it flat.. after several try and miss 3d prints i finally finalize the mini bicycle card..
Assembly
I added a video on how to assemble the bicycle.. there is one part that's slightly tricky and needs to be done in the right sequence..
the 2 sides of the tires have opposite grooves on them.. dont use the same groove direction..
You can find the 3d printed stl files here: www.fay3dlab.com
Conclusion
I modelled the bicycle in tinkercad to get it as close as the real polygon bend R2 gravel bike.. maybe i should try using a multicolor 3d printer so i can get the parts to color match with the real bicycle..
This is also a good idea gift for your cyclist friends.. im already getting ideas to give a card each to my old cycling buddies..
Have fun assembling your own mini bicycle and happy 3D printing..
