Mini Beaded Star Ornaments

Miniature bottle brush Christmas trees are all the rage but mini beaded star ornaments are impossible to find. The smallest ones I've found are between 1 and 2 inches which means they are way too big for my mini bottle brush trees. Follow along (with your reading glasses and a bright light...if you're old-ish like me, lol) to make some super fun mini beaded star ornaments.

Supplies

If you need to purchase all the items to make these mini star ornaments, you'll probably have to spend about $10-$15 but assuming you already have scissors in your junk drawer, this is an inexpensive project.

Supply List

  • 1 beading needle
  • 1 spool of thread (any color you want...I used white)
  • Seed Beads (any color you want)
  • Scissors

  • Cut a piece of thread 13 inches in length.
  • Thread your needle.
  • String 10 seed beads onto the thread and pull them to the end of the thread about 1 inch from the end.

  • Add 2 beads to your needle and slide them down the thread.
  • Skip 1 bead and insert your needle into the next bead.
  • Repeat 4 more times to complete the circle.

  • Insert your needle into the first bead on the top row (or outer circle that you just created).
  • Add 1 bead and insert your needle into the next top bead.
  • Insert your needle into the bead in the middle of the two rows in the inner circle.
  • Insert your needle into the next top bead and repeat this process 4 more times.
  • When you are finished, tie off the thread and cut the end.

Add a Hanger

  • Insert the needle with a small length of thread (maybe 3 inches) into one of the beads at one of the top points.
  • Pull thread through and tie a knot.
  • Cut the ends and hang on your mini tree.

Oh, and don't forget to make lots more!!
