Milk Jug Solar Ghosts

The milk jug solar ghosts are so easy to make! This would be a great project for a kids.

Supplies

Supplies you'll need are milk jugs (but I think one of mine was a tea jug), a marker, solar lights, something to put inside the jug to weigh them down, I used white decorative floral rocks . I included packing tape in the photo in case I needed it to secure the solar lights, but I did not need it. I purchased the marker, white decorative floral rocks and solar lights at Dollar Tree.

The first step is to empty and clean the jugs. The hardest part of this project is getting the labels off. I soak the jug in hot, soapy water for a couple of days. You will probably have to scrape the glue residue off after the paper label peels off. I was able to do that using my thumbnail. Then turn them upside down to dry for a few hours.

Next, grab your marker and draw some faces on a side of the jugs. I used a black marker so the faces could be seen better at night. There's no right or wrong, just have fun!

Drop in whatever you chose to weigh the jugs down. I covered the bottoms of each jug with the white floral rocks which are about the size of gravel. I chose the white ones so they would not distract from the faces.

Lastly, pull the tabs off the solar lights that allow the lights to work, then, leaving the stake on the lights, shove the lights into the jug mouth.

Place them outside where they'll get good sunlight or maybe in a window, and enjoy!

Happy Halloween!!
