The character's name is Midoriya. He's from an anime called "My Hero Academia." He's super cool and i decieded to draw him because i hadn't drawn in a while.

Supplies

All you'll need is a pencil and eraser. (If you have darker or lighter pencils that'd be good. If not, that's okay.)

The Outline.

What i did was, I looked up a picture of Midoriya from google and If you're like me and you have trouble drawing, an easy way to start drawing is taking your paper, put it against your laptop screen (on full brightness) and zoom in as much as you can to get the whole picture and outline whatever you can. (The hair, legs, shoes etc.)

Adding the Details.

Since the picture is a bit dark, you won't be able to add in the details of the cloths, so you're going to have to do make that on your own. (Tip: Measure in your head aproximately where the part you're drawing is. For example, for the black pockets, you know it's somewhere below the chest a little above the belt, and it goes under the arms.)

Shade In.

Once you've got the details like shoe laces, front hair, the wrinkles on the t-shirt etc, you're ready to start shading. To shade, i used the cross hatching method. You draw a few lines horizontally, and some vertically, making it a hatch. In some areas where it's dark, i make those hatches pressing harder on the pencil or just with a darker pencil.

Where there's not much light, i very make sure there's plenty of white and empty paper so it looks like the sun's there.

Where it's black, i full on put a lot of weight on my pencil and made it seem completely black. (No cross hatching here.)

Make Everything Darker.

In the end, what really makes it look good is if you use dark lines and make it bold so it's clear what is it. For example, I made the laces super dark because it didn't look like a lace before i did.

Add Your Own Touch!

For the hair, in the picture, there's a bird on his head. The hair is a bit harder to shade and draw, so i made a crown of flowers. You can always change anything you want while drawing. After all, it's called "art!" If you want to give a wind-y effect, make some leaves behind him in the background. Last thing,
