Midfinder Easy Way

intro.png

For easy creation of a Tool to find the centerpoint of some Object it is important to eliminate any chance of error at build time. This instructable will show you how to build such a tool without the need of precise tool to set things up.

You Need Some Scrap Pices

Rastergrafik.png

You need some scrap pices. Could be wood but any other material is suitale too.

Cut Your Scrap Like Shown in the Graphics

step2.png

Cut your pices. It does not matter which size. Do it to fullfill your needs. Only important thing is to cut the angled pices at once and with the shorter edge lined up. Some angle near 45° will be OK.

Glue Them Together

step3.png

Now glue the two pices together. Or screw or weld or whatever.

Important: make the pices slightly ofset in height like shown in the picture.

Glue Bar to Base

Now fix the third pice to the ofset and you are done.

The trick is that the base pices form an angle with the staight edge bisecting it. So no matter which angle you choose, the bar fixed to this edge will bisect it.

Use

step4.png

Simply place the object on witch the center is needed at the angled pices. Draw a line, rotate the object and draw another line. The crossing marks the center.

Note: It is the f** editor that makes words in headlines beginning with a capital letter. But ifyou find some other typos you may keep them for free. ;)
