Michelada Recipe

michelada main edit.jpg

The Michelada, a classic Mexican drink is the perfect cocktail for hot summer fun. And by hot, I mean spicy. This drink is an amazing combination of refreshing and a kick in the pants for your taste buds. Of course I'll show you how to adjust the heat to suit your comfort level, but it is meant to be a bit on the spicy side.

Let's head South of the border! (via your kitchen...)

This glass rim mix is one of my favorite things about this recipe. I think the smoked paprika is such an amazing flavor.

Set out two small plates.

Mix 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika into the salt, either in the bowl or directly on the plate.

Spread the salt mix out evenly on the bottom of the plate.

Oh Honey!

This is the tastiest way to stick salt to a glass rim that I've ever tried.

Spread the 1 tbsp of honey evenly over the bottom of the second plate.

Prepping the Glasses

Dip each serving glass in the honey, and then in the salt/paprika mix.

Add the lime juice, worcestershire sauce, tabasco, soy sauce, and beer to a handful of ice in a mixing container.

Use a long spoon to mix everything together well.

Pour & Garnish

Pour the now mixed drink into the prepared glasses. Add a bit more ice if desired.

Add a light sprinkle of cracked pepper and smoked paprika onto the top of each drink.

Garnish each glass with a slice of lime.
