Remove the instrument panel from the top of the tank by loosening the three hexagon socket screws (5 mm) and disconnect the electrical connectors below (2 pcs).

Loosen the screws circled in red and collect. It is also a good idea to remove the washers under the screws so that they do not disappear (may feel like they are glued, but they are not). The circular seal between the instrument cluster and the cover is not symmetrical, so look in which direction it is.

Avaa punaisella ympyröidyt ruuvit ja pistä talteen. Ruuvien alla olevat aluslaatat kannattaa myös ottaa irti, etteivät häviä (voivat tuntua kuin olisivat liimattu, mutta eivät ne ole). Mittariston ja katteen välillä oleva pyöreä tiiviste ei ole symmetrinen, joten katso kummin päin se on.

Remove the metal bushings that pass through the anti-vibration rubbers (so that they do not disappear) and at least the lowest anti-vibration rubber. It is not necessary to remove the two upper rubbers. Loosen the screw securing the cable (marked in blue).

Irroita tärinänvaimennuskumien läpi menevät metalliholkit (etteivät häviä) sekä ainakin alin tärinänvaimennuskumi. Kahden ylemmän kumin irroitus ei ole välttämätöntä. Avaa johdon kiinnitysruuvi (merkitty sinisellä).

Loosen the marked fastening screws (PH2). The screw in the middle is shorter than the others, the rest are the same length. The instrument panel will then open, so handle it carefully.

Avaa merkityt kiinnitysruuvit (PH2). Keskellä oleva ruuvi on muita lyhyempi, loput ovat saman mittaisia. Tämän jälkeen mittaristo avautuu, joten käsittele huolellisesti.

Loosen the two screws marked, each with two washers. Thread the metal frame attached to the screws off the wires and set aside with the screws.

Avaa merkityt kaksi ruuvia, molemmissa on kaksi prikkaa. Pujottele ruuvien kiinnittämä metallikehys irti johdoista ja siirrä ruuvien kanssa syrjään.

I used an LED strip of about 50 cm (about 49.5 cm + wires) from which I cut off the last two segments. The intersections are marked on the tape with clear markings. Even a shorter strip will do, because the LED strip does not have to rotate the entire instrument panel like I do (see the following figure). Personally, I approached the installation solution through the easiest routing of wires.

Test the functionality of the LED strip before proceeding further. Red cord plus and black negative, 12 VDC ...

Käytin noin 50 cm:n led-nauhaa (noin 49,5 cm + johdot), josta leikkasin kaksi viimeistä segmenttiä pois. Leikkauskohdat on merkitty nauhaan selkeillä merkeillä. Lyhyemmälläkin nauhalla pärjää, koska led-nauhan ei tarvitse kiertää koko mittaristoa kuten minulla (kts. seuraava kuva). Itse lähestyin asennusratkaisua johtojen helpoimman reitityksen kautta.

The LED strip wires start from the top of the meter, at the 100 km / h mark. On the other side of the circuit board are the instrument panel wires, so the LED strip's own wires are good enough for that. The part at the bottom of the instrument panel does not need a backlight, because then the indicator lights seemed to be more or less on all the time. I covered unwanted LEDs with shrink tube pieces (bends better than with a long shrink tube).

Led-nauhan johdot lähtevät mittarin yläosasta, 100 km/h merkinnän kohdalta. Piirilevyn toisella puolella ovat mittariston johdot, joten led-nauhan omat johdot riittävät sinne hyvin. Mittariston alareunassa oleva osa ei kaipaa taustavaloa, koska tällöin merkkivalot näyttivät olevan enemmän tai vähemmän päällä koko ajan. Peitin ei-toivotut ledit kutistesukan pätkillä (taipuu paremmin kuin pitkän kutistesukan kanssa).

Last test before attaching the LED strip. The strip I used was just the right width and stayed in place by almost itself, I secured the attachment with a few hot glue drops.

Viimeinen testi ennen led-nauhan kiinnittämistä. Käyttämäni nauha oli juuri sopivan levyistä ja pysyi lähes itsestään paikoillaan, varmistin kiinnityksen muutamilla kuumaliimatipoilla.

Find out which wires you connect the LED strip to. Black is ground, the plus of the indicator lights is that blue wire (coming from different connectors). Cut the correct wires and connect the LED strip wires as desired. I made the joints myself by soldering and protected the points with a shrink sock. The joints are hidden under the rubber nozzle.

Selvitä mihin johtoihin kytket led-nauhan. Musta on maa, mittarivalojen plussa on tuo sininen johto (tulevat eri liittimiltä). Katkaise oikeat johdot ja liitä led-nauhan johtimet haluamallasi tavalla. Itse tein liitokset juottamalla ja suojasin kohdat kutistesukalla. Liitokset jäävät kumitutin alle piiloon.

Assemble the instrument cluster in reverse order:

• Rubber pacifier and frame
• 4 + 1 fixing screws
• Vibration damping rubbers with sleeves
• Cable fixing screw
• Instrument panel for cover (seal and three screws with washers)
• The connectors are attached to the motorcycle connectors, the cover is in place and the three hexagon sockets are attached
