Mending Ceramics With Sugru

bank step 6.jpg

We had an adorable ceramic bank that was broken...Sugru to the rescue! Using three pieces of Sugru, we were able to mend the ceramic piece with a little extra flair!

Assess the Damage and Get Your Supplies Together

This is a pretty major break. However, since the main section of the bank remained intact, we can use Sugru to cover up the damage. Here's what we used. If you have a similar issue, you can change up the colors!

  • one pack of black Sugru
  • one pack of yellow Sugru
  • two packs of red Sugru

Mend the Largest Section of Damage

Not much Sugru comes in a packet, but it does go a long way! We were able to fix the main section of damage using just one pack of Sugru. You can mold Sugru very much like Play-Doh.

Make It Pretty!

For extra strength (and prettiness!), we added a flower to our bank. The flower was molded out of three pieces of Sugru.

Let the Sugru Set

The Sugru should harden for at least 24 hours. Now enjoy your mended masterpiece!
