Melted Crayon Pumpkin
Pumpkins are really fun to carve, paint, and color on. With this new spin on pumpkin decorating you will have a blast melting crayons onto a beautiful pumpkin
Supplies
You will need:
- Crayons (in any colors)
- A Pumpkin (I used some little pumpkins about the size of a fist)
- A wet paper towel or a Clorox wipe
- A dry paper towel
- A blow dryer
- A paper plate or just something to put under your pumpkin
Clean Your Pumpkin
This is where you will use the wet paper towel. First scrape off any chunks of dirt with your fingers then polish it off with the wet paper towel. Then dry the pumpkin.
Prepping the Crayons
Before you can melt the crayons you have to take the paper off of them. This can be kind of tricky, but make sure all of the paper is off of the crayon. You will also only want a small chunk of the crayon if you are using a smaller pumpkin.
Big Pumpkin= 6-8 Full crayons
Medium Pumpkin= 3-5 Full crayons
Little Pumpkin= Small chunks of crayons (probably no more than four)
Melting the Crayons
Taking your crayons put them on top of the pumpkin. Then use the blow-dryer set on low (but still high heat) slowly melt the crayons. CAUTION THE WAX IS VERY HOT! As they melt you will want to tip the pumpkin to help the melted crayons drip over the edge. Once you are done let it sit for a couple of minutes
Tip: Don't let the wax melt too long if you are using non primary colors. (For example, purple and green.) They will mix together and turn brown.
