The goal of this project was to modify the existing components, assemble them in Fusion 360 and then 3d print them and add a paper accordian snake on top to move as the followers go up and down

my first step was to punch out excess material, so that it would be able to print faster

I added a little variation by drawing a wavy line and extruding it to cut away from the purple circle, hoping this would create a weirder movement of the snake on one end. I wanted the edges to still be rounded to accommodate movement, so I used the fillet tool.

When I got to the lab, i realized I still needed to make accountance for tolerance, so I worked using the 'offset' tool with a tolerance .4 for sliding joints, .3 snapping, and .2 for the cams. this was meant to be for the tolerance using the Ultimaker. Unfortunately I ran out of time in the lab, so I wasn't able to 3D print these parts

I wanted to practice digital assembling, so I worked on getting the cam toy assembled in Fusion 360.
I started by creating a new file and 'inserting' a component. then I assembled, with the 'joint' function' under the 'assemble' tab. I specified the range of motion for each as I assembled, and animated the joints as well.
As you can see I had some trouble with my followers, I think i may have assembled them as rigid, because I couldn't move them after I placed them.
I tried to change the color and material of the whole toy, but only the bottom would change colors.
