Mechanical Animated Halloween Light Box for Room Decor
Sun board is an amazing material with which we can use it for art and craft, it's main advantage is its flexibility and strength, with this material I made a mechanical animated halloween light box for room decor which include few animated jack-o'-lantern. Jack-o'-lanterns are associated with the Halloween holiday. Its name comes from the reported phenomenon of strange lights flickering over peatbogs, called will-o'-the-wisps or jack-o'-lanterns
Supplies
Materials:
- Sun-board
- Wooden Chopstick
- Super Glue
- Sketch Pen for markings
- Yellow 0.5 Watt LED Night Bulb
- Bulb Holder

- Same steps needs to be followed on another sun-board which will be the third base layer as shown in the image
Halloween Elements Making Which Will Fit Inside the Box
- Outline of house is drawn on the sun-board and outline is cut out from it
- On another sun-board jack-o'-lantern is drawn and outline is cut out from it
- More jack-o'-lantern is drawn and cut out and glued with a stick and a '[ ]' bracket type sun-board paddles.
Assembling the Mechanical Parts Inside the Box
- Wooden chop sticks are attached in the lower part of the box with 2 O-rings made out of sun-board fitted in the chopsticks
- A sun-board strip with two 2mm holes are made to guide the jack-o'-lantern sticks.
- A 0.5" by 9.5" sun-board strip was cut and two small holes were pade for the jack-o'-lantern sticks' to pass.
- Jack-o'-lantern are placed as shown in the images.
- Two washers made with sun-boards were placed on both ends of the chopstick to lock the stick from outside the lightbox.
- All the layers were then placed one above the other.
Final Assembly of the Box and Light
- After placing each and every layer inside the box the yellow bulb is fitted on a DIY light projector box made with sun-board.
- The light projector box was then fitted from the behind.
Final Step
Now the project is ready. As we twist the chopstick from outside, we can see the jack-o'-lantern moves.
It is my sincere hope that the process of creating this project was enjoyable for you. Could you please provide feedback?
