Meatless Meat Sauté

Today, I am going to make meatless meat sauté. This is an incredible dish if you are having a party and some of the people are vegetarian since everyone will enjoy it whether they are or not. It is also great for making at home for a meal since it's extremely nutritious. For this recipe, I am using mushrooms and paneer (cheese) as red meat and chicken alternatives. Mushrooms are filled with vitamins and minerals while paneer is a great source of calcium. I will also be using spices for the flavor to bring this recipe to life.
Supplies

- 1 medium-sized onion
- 1-inch ginger piece
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tomato
- 1 red bell pepper and 2 green bell pepper
- 10 to 12 mushroom heads
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- Salt for taste
- 1 tbsp cooking oil of your choice
- 1 or 2 chillis to add some heat (optional)
Prepare the Vegetables

To start this off, wash all the vegetables. After you do that, deseed the bell peppers and dice the tomato. Cut the mushroom heads into slices. Then, peel the onion and also cut it into slices. Now, grind the ginger and garlic cloves to make the ginger garlic paste.
Cooking the Vegetables

Put a tablespoon of oil into a nonstick pan. When the oil heats up, add the cumin seeds and let them splutter for 30 seconds. Make sure not to let it burn. After adding the cumin seeds, we need to add the onion slices we cut. Sauté the onion for 3-5 minutes on medium-high heat. Add in the ginger garlic paste and stir for the next 2-3 minutes until it is golden brown. You can now add the chillis if you want them, but this is an optional step since some people might not like them. Add the diced tomatoes into the pan and cook until it is softened. Remember to stir in between.
Now add the turmeric, coriander, cumin powder, and salt into the mix. Cook them for 1 minute.
Following that, add the mushrooms and bell pepper into the pan and mix them well. Stir the vegetables on medium-high heat with the pan covered for 2 minutes. Then cook uncovered for 7-10 minutes.
Adding the Paneer

In another nonstick pan on medium-high heat, brown the paneer cubes on each side for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then, put the cubes into the cooked vegetables. If you want to learn how to make paneer from scratch, here is the recipe. Mix the paneer cubes into the sauté gently to get it coated with the spices well. Turn off the heat and now we are done! It is ready to serve. This is absolutely delicious and extremely healthy on its own, or it can be served with rice, a tortilla of your choice, or any other way you come up with! Enjoy!
