Mason Jar Night Light

I used an old mason jar to make a housewarming gift for my friend. She loved it and it was easy and fun to make!
Supplies

Pint size Mason Jar, cardboard, exacto knife, cutting mat, pencil, night light fixture (I got mine from National Artcraft) small wooden discs (actually I ended up using small wooden dowels , pictured in step #3)
brushes and glass paint.
Assemble the Base

draw the outline of the inside of the lid on the cardboard and the outline of the top of the nightlight fixture.
Using the exact knife cut the shape of the fixture, check to make sure it can be inserted.
cut the circle and place it back inside the outer rim of the cover.
Applying a Little Lift

glue small wooden dowels around the base to lift it slightly and allow space for the electrical wire to exit. I showed small wooden disks in my supply list but I found the dowels worked better.
Painting the Design

Paint the glass of the Mason Jar
An additional Mason Jar makes a good water cup for washing brushes
Finish

Put the lid back on and plug it in!
