Mason Jar Candle

I'm going to be showing you how I made some candles out of recycled wax and a mason jar!

Materials list!

1 Mason Jar

1 Heat Resistant container for water (pot, saucepan, beaker)

Candle Wax (recycled wax works great)

Candle Wick

1 Set of Chopsticks

Prepare

Fill your container (Beaker, saucepan, pot, etc.) with water and put the wax you're planning on using inside a smaller container and lower it into the water container. Now you have yourself a double boiler!

Melt Your Wax

Put your double boiler over a hotplate or stove and bring it to a boil to begin melting the wax. I lost the image for this step but it's not too hard to pull off.

Measure Out Your Wick

This step doesn't have to be precise, so don't take too much time trying to get it perfect. Eyeball the wick length from the base of the mason jar to the top rim (we'll be trimming it later). Although this step is #3, this can be done at any time.

Setting the Wicks

This candle is going to work best with 2 or 3 wicks, with mine I did 2 and it worked pretty well. To set the wicks you're going to want to slide them into a pair of chopsticks that haven't been split yet in order to keep the wicks in place.

Final Step!

Center your wicks inside the mason jar and pour in your melted wax. Set in your fridge to cool and within 30 minutes you'll have a brand new candle!
