Mask Making
I made a mask taking inspiration from the kitsune fox originating from the Japanese culture.
Supplies
Clay
Newspaper
Tape
Clay tools
Primer
Water color paint
Paint brushes
Brush pen
The initial step of the mask making process is to crush a newspaper in such a way that it gives a similar shape as that of the mask and use tape to hold it on the desk.
We use natural clay which is wet enough to mould. We flatten it and place it on the newspaper to give it the shape.
We use clay tools to bring about the details of the mask. Also, extra clay is used to add features like the ears in this case. Holes are made in the eyes for visibility. The clay can now be left for drying.
After the clay has hardened, we can start adding colors to it. Firstly, we have to apply primer that gives a base for painting it further and improves the overall look.
This is the final step. We give different colors to the mask by using water color paints, paint brushes and brush pens. We can add various designs to the mask.
