A hot toddy is hands down one of the best weapons against a cold winter night. Add the warming qualities of chai spices and you have the drink equivalent of a down quilt.

The spices in the chai tea used as a base for this drink are scientifically warming, just adding to the toddy's cold fighting superpowers.

So bring it cold weather! We're ready for you.

Supplies

- high quality chai tea
- maple flavored bourbon (I used this delicious one)

The following measurements are for 1 mug of toddy.

NOTE: I made this recipe x3 to fill the thermos you'll see in later steps.

Bring water to a boil and pour 8oz into a glass mixing container or right into a serving mug.

Spice It Up

Add 1-2* chai tea bags to the water.

*The amount depends on how strong you want the chai flavor.

Dance While You Wait

Use the 2 minutes steeping time to practice some new dance moves.

Once the 2 minutes is up, remove the tea bag from the water and either compost it or save it to steep again later.

Get Whiskey Wild

Add 2 1/2 oz of a high quality maple flavored bourbon.

NOTE: If you don't have access to maple flavored bourbon, add 2 1/2 oz regular bourbon and along with 1 tsp of pure maple syrup.

Creamy Is Dreamy

Add a cinnamon stick to garnish and add extra flavor.

If staying indoors: Enjoy your warm beverage by a fire, a loved one, or wrapped in a cozy blanket.

If heading outdoors: Fill a thermos with your warm concoction, grab mugs, and go!
