Making of "School of the Future" Game

We are making a game called "School of the future". By answering questions and solving problems, players build a new school system. The game consists of question cards, action cards and problem cards. By playing the game players can find, create and propose solutions for current school problems and the game improves players' problem solving skills.

The game is created by using educational technology and physical materials. The game board is made out of plywood. The game pieces and the dice are printed with 3D printer. Different kinds of cards are online in Quizlet. Instructions for the game are made with Canva and are online in Spacial as well.

We started the process by writing a script for the game. We decided that we wanted to create a game through which we could make the school system better. After that we divided roles for every group member.

Group members started to :

• create different kinds of cards for the game and put them to Quizlet
• create the model of the game board with Inkscape
• design the 3D models with Tinkercad
• write the instructions with Canva

We also used the help of ChatGPT in making the cards and instructions.

Group members started to :

• cut the practice model of the game board with laser cutter out of cardboard, and then cut the real game board out of plywood
• print the 3D models with 3D printer

We finalized the game by coloring the game board and writing some instructions there. Here is the finished product (the dice isn't in the picture). We tested the game and it was a success!
