Making an Authentic Looking Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver
this is a 5 minute project you an do with a sharpie and industrial grade wipes. let's do this.
You Need:
a sharpie
TYGRIS One Wipe
A sonic screwdriver toy
Starting Off
start by going nuts with the marker and just clolouring your screwdriver black. JUST DON'T GET IT ON THE LIGHT EMITTER OR TIP (in my case, the green bit)
Wiping It Off
with your TYGIRD one wipe, wipe off the excess marker and you should be left with the marker in the crevices and crannies, there's fix lines around my ones on the copper/bronze bits, with the marker getting in there, it looks really good and more metallic.
i forgot to say that the marker on the wipe leaves a darker tone on your screwdriver, making it look more worrn and some cases, more metallic.
That white bit is going to need more marker, as it would reasitcally be darker due to where the dotor holds it. i've posted a picture of the final product.
The Final Product
what you're left with is a more realistic looking screwdriver.
Until next time guys and gals.
Weathering (Optional)
you're gonna want to get a key (prefably one no one uses anymore) and start scratching at various points og the screwdriver, a good place to scratch would be the white part, claws and the coppery coloured pieces, as they would be more noticable.
For a better worn effect, go over the screwdriver several times with the marker where it would most likely take a beating, like the claw fronts, the design on the silver piece (get in the crevices) and down the bottom by the big red button.
in the end, you should end up with a decent looking screwdriver.
