Making a Simple Removable Plug With No Measuring

What you need:
- ImPressive Putty for the Hole Jig
- Casting Material: this can be a lot of different things: epoxy putty, epoxy resin, Bondo, polyurethane, polyester resin, hot glue could also work, wood filler
- Scissors or a knife
- Microwave
- And a refrigerator optional
Clean Hole

Wipe away hole and make sure nothing lose is in it.
Soften ImPRESSive Putty by Heating in the Microwave

The ImPRESSive Putty softens quickly in the microwave. This 3 oz size softens in 22 seconds. The 6 oz size softens in about 45 seconds.
Be careful when it heated as it is hot. Let it cool so it's comfortable to handle.
Press the Putty Into the Hole

Press into the hole to form an impression of the hole. The Putty will take on that shape and because it's putty it won't sag or deform.
Let this cool until it's firm. You'll know it's done when you press the putty it doesn't leave an indentation. You can place something cold on it to cool it faster.
When Cool, Pull Out of the Hole, Use This Jig to Make Your Mold.

Since this jig is made from the actual hole, you know it's going to fit.
Cut Off the Extra ImPRESSive Putty to Make the Mold of the Shape, or Use Other Putty.

Because the Putty can be remelted, use the extra putty to make the mold from the jig shape. Use the same process to soften the putty in the microwave.
Because it was less material this time, use a shorter time in the microwave. I estimated about 15 seconds, which was plenty.
Cool the Jig Shape in the Freezer for a Bit Then Press the Softened Putty Over the Jig Shape

So now we make a mold of the jig shape. Press the softened putty over the shape.
Let the Mold Cool, and Then Pour or Press in Your Casting Material

Because the shape is cool, and the Putty has an activator in it that acts as a mold release, the two halves don't stick together. This is also a great way to make two part molds.
We used polyurethane for the plug, but epoxy putty, epoxy resin, Bondo, polyester resin, wood filler will all work as well.
Pull Out the New Plug, Press Into Your Hole

You know it will fit because the actual hole was used to make the shape. You won't be off with any measurements and you didn't have to do any fancy cutting.
The Putty can be resoftened anytime for a new shape. Store the Putty in a plastic bag.
