In this instructable I am going to teach you how to build a scented stuffed toy out of recycled and reused materials.

Gather Materials

The materials that you need are:

A sandwich bag worth of orange peels

7 pieces of recycled paper

Hot glue

2 pieces of paper that are blank on one side (Pick ones that don’t have color or else you will be able to see through it)

Unscented markers.

Scissors

Now that you have all of the materials let's get started!

The Body

The materials you will need for this part of the project are hot glue and 7 pieces of recycled paper. First, roll up 4 pieces of paper. Flatten them so it looks like a strip. Fold in half on the short side once if you want it to be tall. Fold it twice if you want it to be smaller. In this example I folded it twice.

Once you fold the body then you glue it together in the inside of each fold. Hold the folds until the glue sets.

The Head

Then take the other three pieces. First roll it up on the long side so it looks like a taquito. Next flatten it so it looks flat. Fold it in half once on the short side. Roll it up in a spiral. Unroll and unfold the head. Apply glue inside the first fold. Then put a line of glue along the length of the paper. Roll up the head. Add glue at the very end of the roll to hold it closed. Hold it until the glue sets for at least a minute.

Adding the Body to the Head

Now we are going to glue the body and head together. On the body’s folded side end put a lot of hot glue. Then put the head on the glue. (Do this fast before the glue sets). And then add generous amounts of glue to either side of the seam. Hold until the glue sets.

The Orange Peels

For this part of the project you will need hot glue with the orange peels and the figure.

Hot glue orange peels on the outside of the figure to cover it. It is ok for the peels to overlap. Glue the orange peels with the outside of the peel facing out and the inside of the peel facing in. You might want to glue the peels on one side and let it set, then after it sets you can do it on the other side.

The orange peels are used to make the character smell good and it makes it soft.

The Character

The materials that you will need for this part are 2 pieces of paper blank on one side, hot glue, and the figure with the orange peels on it. You will also need scissors.

First fold the paper around the body and glue it from the sides. Next fold the bottom of the paper up and glue it to the figure. Fold the other side up and glue it to the figure. If the first piece covers the whole body then you do not need the second piece for now. If the paper does not fit the whole thing then cut a strip of paper as big and as long as the hole and glue it there.

Finish

The materials you need for the last part are: scissors, non scented markers, the remaining blank paper, you also might need hot glue. First, find out what thing or character you want this to be. When you think of which character you want you can use the markers to draw the character. You can also look up sample images of the character that you are drawing. In this example, I have drawn Captain Rex. After you draw you can add accessories using hot glue and your spare paper. After that you are done and you can enjoy your cuddly friends.
