I made this library reading bench for our daughter, Colyne.
It has 4 places to store your books, and a comfortable cushion to settle in.
Not a lot of tools: I mainly used a circular saw to cut the panels and a biscuit jointer to assemble them.
Supplies
- MDF 16 mm
- Joining Biscuits
- Paint
- Plastic feet
- Wood glue
Plan

The plan shows the general view and the different parts to be cut out.
Everything is made in 16mm thick MDF (Except the back board).
Cutting

The panels are cut with a circular saw. I used a wooden rail that I made.
For the sloping part, I tilted the saw at 30 °
Assembly

The panels are assembled with "joining biscuits" and wood glue.
The back part is reinforced with screws that I hid with wood pulp.
I added 6 plastic feet which I recovered on an old piece of furniture.
Finishing

The edges are ground with the router and the panels are sanded before painting.
Painting

All parts first receive 2 coats of white paint.
For the 4 colors, I used paint samples.
Final Details

For the back, I nailed hardboard that I previously painted white.
For the seat, I bought a cushion for 2-seater garden bench on Amazon.
Colyne's many books are now put away and she can enjoy her little reading corner!
