Making a Bluetooth Adapter Pt.2 (Making a Compatible Speaker)

In this instructable, I will be showing you how to utilize my Bluetooth Adapter to make an old speaker Bluetooth compatible.

*If you have not read my first instructable on "Making a Bluetooth Adapter" I suggest you do so before continuing.

The materials you will need are:

An Old Speaker (preferably one that you don't use anymore)

Wire connectors -- Click Here

Wire Strippers / Cutter

Electrical Tape

*Optional* Soldering Gun / Material

You will need wire connectors (specifically the ones I used in my Bluetooth Adapter).

I used these wire connectors from Amazon.

For this step (and the all of them for that matter) you will only need the Male side of the connector.

Next, you will need to strip the wire ends.

*It's helpful if you remove the plastic clip so it's easier to remove from the female connector.

Next, you want to get an old speaker. one with two wires coming out the back.and strip the wires in the back.

(For this project I used two old speakers. If you are also going to use two speakers, skip to step "Speaker Adapter (2a)." If you are only using one speaker, continue on.)

For this next step, You need to cut the wires, (to a reasonable length) and strip them.

I used wire cutters and strippers for this step.

Next, you will need the Male adapter from step "Speaker Adapter (b)".

You will need to attach the stripped connector onto the speaker. to do that, you can either solder the adapter onto the speaker wires or you can just twist them together very tightly.

*As you can see I just twisted the wires very tightly.

Whichever option you choose, you should wrap it in electrical tape to keep it secure.

For this next step (and the next few), You need two old speakers.

Next, assign a number each of the speaker, that was it easier to keep track of what your doing to each one.

Next, (For speaker ONE) You need to cut the wires, (to a reasonable length) and strip them.

I used wire cutters / strippers for this step.

Still using speaker ONE, go about half way up the wires in the back, and strip them just a little bit.

Next, Stack speaker 2 on top of speaker 1. (pictured above). You need to cut the wires, (just enough to reach the wire gap on speaker ONE) and strip them.

Next you to Wrap (or solder) the wires from speaker TWO onto the wire gap on speaker ONE.

Next, you will need the Male adapter from step "Speaker Adapter (b)".
You will need to attach the stripped connector onto speaker ONE. to do that, you can either solder the adapter onto the speaker wires or you can just twist them together very tightly.

*As you can see I just twisted the wires very tightly.

Once you are done, I recommend you wrap the naked wires in electrical tape to protect them.
