Making a Berky Type Water Filter System That Looks Good in a Kitchen

You have seen plans on the net to use Berky filters with 5 gallon buckets.
This setup works well but is too large for a kitchen counter. I set about
to find containers from local stores that could be combined to make a water
filter that looks good and fits in our kitchen.

Instead of 5 gallon buckets I chose smaller but nicer containers. They are attached together by the Berky filter. The screw and nut hold the upper container and top of the bottom container together. Water is poured in to the top containerand drains thru the filter to the botton.

Un screw the top to the bottom container and mark the hole location in the top container.
Drill in a safe way.  Trim and make the holes neat . This will lower the chance of leakage.

Clean your hands. Put filter washer on first, push filter thru top container, put on top of lower container, put on plastic nut to hold all together.  Screw top on to the bottom.  Photo of the filter below.

I used 2 wood pieces to help secure and  protect the filter from being broken.

I find that the filter will take around 4 hours to produce. Drink in good  health.
