Making a 9v Battery Usb Flash / Pen Drive

IMG_3769.JPG
I started off wanting to make a weird flash drive.  This was not it. This came to me as I was looking through electrical junk I have laying around.

Basically I gutted a 9v battery and glued in a flash drive.  The whole thing took about 10 mins tops.
Parts list:
  • Dead 9v battery (brand of choice)
  • Flash Drive (Again brand of choice)
Tools:
  • Knife or  screwdriver, prying utensil
  • Pliers
  • hot glue gun

First pry the crimp edge  up from the top of the battery.  I used a pocket knife with a can opener.
Next use pliers to straighten the edge.
Then grab the connectors with the pliers and pull while pushing the bottom in.
Remove the inner parts.

Put the cardboard bottom back in.
Then fill the bottom with hot glue and run it up the sides.
Quickly insert the drive snd hold it centered while the glue sets.
When its firm add a little extra into the corners.
