Making Tiny Cupcakes! Cupcake Recipe for Baking!
Because I enjoy baking, I decided to create tiny cupcakes, which I though would be adorable! These were tricky to make, but they turned out really well.
Supplies
Supplies:
Batter ~
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk
1/8 cup vegetable oil
1/4 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 egg (or 1 small egg)
1/4 cup water
*note ~ this recipe yields around 12 normal cupcakes, or as many tiny ones as you would like, depending on the size you make. it can always be halved or even quartered.
Icing ~ use this simple glaze or any frosting of your choice!
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/8 cup water
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
Mixing Dry Ingredients
For the first step, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a small/medium bowl. Combine thoroughly. Set this aside, you'll need it soon. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius).
Mixing Wet Ingredients
For the second step, use a separate bowl to mix the wet ingredients. Add the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, your egg, and water. Combine until all parts are mixed.
Add Wet Ingredients to Dry Ingredients
Now, add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. I used a separate bowl for this, but everything can go in the dry ingredient bowl too. Mix well.
Pour Into Cake Tins
Because these are so tiny, I made little tinfoil molds to put them in. Fill tins about 3/4 of the way.
Baking Time!
I put my cupcakes on a small tray and put them in the center rack of the oven. Set a timer and cook for 5 minutes. Check your oven often, they cook fast! You may need to add more time or take them out early. My cooking time was around 6 minutes.
Make Icing
While the cupcakes bake, combine powdered sugar, water, and vanilla. Mix. You may be able to skip this step if you have different frosting.
Take Cupcakes Out
Take the cupcakes out of the oven. Check that they are thoroughly cooked by sticking a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, they're done.
Ice and Decorate Your Treats!
Add whatever toppings you would like. I used icing and sprinkles. Enjoy your delicious tiny cupcakes!
