Making Pie With Measurements From Pi
In this instructable I will teach you how to make the pi'est pie ever. This will take between an hour and an hour and a half (not including eating time)
The Ingredients
With this recipe, I am turning the first 15 digits of pi into measurements to make pie.
Filling
3.14 cups apples (tart or baking apples are best)
5 tbsp of sugar
3 grams of cinnamon
9 pinches of nutmeg
7 pinches of cloves
9 tsp of flour
A squirt of lime (optional)
Crust
1.59 cups of water and oil mixed
2.65 cups of flour
.08 ounces of salt
Kitchen Tools
2 mixing bowls and spoons
Rolling pin
Wax paper
Oven
The Dough
Mix together your flour and salt. Once flour and salt are mixed pour in your mixture of 50% water and 50% oil (totaling 1.59 cups) and mix until a dough-like consistency forms.
The Filling
Take your apples and mix them with your nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, sugar, and 9 tsp of flour.
Building the Pie
Roll out half of your dough and put it in a pie plate. Then pour your filling into the pie. Then roll out the other half of the dough and plop it on top. Make sure to trim the edges for excess dough.
Tip: Roll out your dough in between two pieces of wax paper to prevent sticking to the rolling pin and the counter.
Finishing Touches
Poke some holes in the pie to let steam escape during baking and put some dough numbers on the top. Brush the top with a mix of egg and milk to give the pie a nice brown color.
Baking the Pie
Throw the pie in the oven at 350 F for around 40 minutes or until juice bubbles out of the crust.
