Making Henna Easy

Hiya, I've been doing henna lately and was asked to do this emblem from a video game (I think it's called Destiny. The video game, not the emblem.) I didn't want to draw it free hand and chance turning his arm into a big brown blob. So this is what I came up with.

Things You'll Need

•Henna (That's the stuff in the duct taped cone. It kept leaking on me so I duct taped it. Duct tape, it fixes everything.)
•Scotch tape
•Tule (I hope I spelled that right. It's just a thin plastic netting.)
•A printout of your selected image
•A body part
•Duct tape (There's probably a better method than wildly slapping duct tape on your problems but I haven't found it.)
•Scissors
•A 2" wide rectangular piece of paper (Adjust as needed for your image size.)
•Sharpie

Moving the Image Over

Cut a piece of tule to fit your image with at least a 1" border. Using the scotch tape, tape the tule over your image. Carefully trace the image using your sharpie and fill in where needed.
Remember the 2" wide piece of paper? Well stick that between the tule and your image and check to make sure you didn't miss anything.
Now, in a highly technical procedure you're going to duct tape the tule to the body part in question.

Applying the Henna

Now all you need to do is trace over the image with your henna, let dry, remove tape+tule, clean up and voila. You now have a henna tattoo that, had you done free hand would have caused lots of pain and heartache.
A few tips. The longer you leave the dried henna on, the darker the image will be. Also, after you take off the henna the image will slowly darken more over the course of 1-2 days.
The usual recommendation is to leave the dried henna on for 8-24 hrs. With this method that's going to be a bit unpractical, as well as uncomfortable.
So I'm thinking just take off the henna once it dries and go over the light image with more henna, and let that stuff sit for the 8-24 hrs.

A Few More Things to Say

I strongly recommend mixing your own henna for this use. Purchase an organic henna powder from a reputable source without preservatives or additives.
I got two 50 gram bags on Amazon for about six dollars. Which will last you a long time, I'm only about half way through the first bag.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have fun.
Bye, Bye. :]
