Making Flower Hangers With Recycled Bottles

In this instructable you will learn to make a DIY plant hanger for outdoor or indoor plants. The supplies you will need are shown below.

Supplies

  • Empty Plastic Container
  • Clothing Hanger
  • Empty Plastic Container
  • Drill
  • Decorative Paint
  • Scissors
  • Wire Cutter

Get an Empty Bottle

Grab any plastic container of your choice.

Cut off plastic wrap.

Cut off top of bottle to the size you would like.

Make sure the bottle is completely dried so that you could paint later on.

Drill 2 or more holes on the bottom so that your plant can get rid of excess water

Cut hanger so it looks like what is shown above. It should look kind of like a hook.

Drill two holes on one side( the first hole will be 1 inch from the bottom of the bottle and the second 2 inches up from the first one.) Then, insert hanger as shown.

Paint the bottle any color you want but make sure if you are using it for outside you use outdoor or durable paint. If you don't use outdoor paint and you hang it outside it will probably get messed up because of the weather

Use decorative paint to make designs! Remember this step is optional and it still looks good without ;) It's up to you!

Head to the gardening store and pick your choice of herbs or flowers. Fill planter with dirt first. Dig a small hole and place plant inside. Water! Here, we did a mix of basil, mint and flowers for an assorted arrangement.
