Making Banana Bread
In this instructable, you’ll learn how to make a delicious Banana Bread dessert.
All ingredients and materials needed to create this delight are simple and easy, making it a baking treat that everyone can make! Let’s get started.
Supplies
For this recipe, you will need:
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 8 teaspoon of Unsalted Butter (1 stick) *Note: Butter at room temperature, not melted.*
- 2 Large Eggs
- 3 ripe Bananas
- 2 cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tablespoon of Milk *Note: 1 tbs. Water can substitute for milk.*
- 1 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Salt·
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract (Optional)
- 1 cup of Chocolate-chips (Optional)
Kitchen appliances:
- 9x5x3 Bread Loaf Pan Cooking rack *Notes: You can find these two items at any grocery store(Target, Meijer, Kroger).*
- Large mixing bowl
- Medium mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Fork
- Cooking spray *Notes: Any cooking spray or butter can be used for coating the pan.*
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
Add into the large mixing bowl:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 8 tbsp of butter
Mix ingredients until it becomes light and fluffy.
Once the sugar and butter are mixed, add in the same bowl:
- 2 eggs
*Optional: Crack 2 eggs into a separate bowl to avoid adding eggshells into mixture*
Beat them well after each addition of the egg. (Optional: Add 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract)
Mash 3 bananas using a medium mixing bowl with a fork.
Add to the same bowl:
- 1 tbs. of milk
- 1 tbs. of ground cinnamon
Mix until cinnamon looks evenly spread throughout the mixture.
Add the banana mixture into the large mixing bowl and stir thoroughly until they are combined.
Mix in the same bowl:
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
Pour the batter into the previously prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes.
After 50 minutes, stick a toothpick into the center of the bread and pull it out. If it comes out clean the bread is done baking, if not, place tin foil over the top of the pan and allow the bread to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.
*Repeat until the toothpick is clean.*
Once the bread is removed from the oven, allow it to cool for 15 minutes.
Remove it from the baking pan onto the cooking rack and allow it to cool completely before slicing.
Cut the bread into even slices with the option of serving them topped with honey, ice cream, or butter!
