Making All Natural Moisturizing Skin Cream

As I said before I have a rule when it comes to my skin care products:

"If wouldn't want to eat it, I will not rub it on my skin"

Here is another simple homemade skin care product that I always keep on hand. It is my favorite moisturizer and can be used all over the body and face.

Gather Your Ingredients

You will need:

Coconut oil

Hemp oil (optional)

Your favorite essential oils

I like to use all organic ingredients when I can but that does make this product more costly to make.

Also I like to experiment with the ingredients.

You will also need a bowl large enough for mixing, a spoon or spatula (I used both), and a container in which to put your finish product.

Just Do It!

I put 2 huge scoops of coconut oil in the bowl.

Coconut oil is solid at room temperature so this requires a bit of muscle. You can warm your jar of coconut oil in a bowl of warm water. This turns the oil to a liquid and makes things a lot easier. I skip that step because I like to process the ingredients as little as possible.

But if you insist on doing things the easy way...FINE...go ahead ;)

So put your coconut oil in the bowl...around two cups for you people that like to measure.

Pour in the Green Stuff

Now add the hemp oil. I add maybe 2 tablespoons. I eyeball it....noooooooo, I do not put it in my eye.

The hemp oil will help to make the coconut oil softer at room temperature. The more you add the softer your mixture will be. It's all up to you.

Bring on the Stank!

It is time to add the essential oils. I do this to scent the skin cream. But essential oils have many benefits. Do your research and choose what you like.

I added a few drops of Patchouli oil, Lavender oil and Texas Cedarwood oil. I change it up every time. Also, I got impatient and took out the little plastic plug that controls the drops. If you do that, be careful when you are pouring cause a little goes a long, long way when it comes to essential oils.

You can also leave the mixture unscented if you wish but it may have a light coconut odor.

Stir Stir Stir

Stir that stuff!

If you chose to warm your coconut oil, this step will be a breeze.

If you didn't warm the coconut oil, well, you may have to use those muscles to get everything blended smoothly. Mash all the chunks out.

Put a Lid on It!

Make sure you choose a container with a lid.

I used a spatula to scrape my mixture into my storage container.

Put a lid on the container and store at room temperature.

Use as often as you like on face and body!

Yum! NOT!

This mixture is safe to eat, but I really wouldn't recommend it. It isn't very yummy.
