We made a Makey Makey button that plays sounds when pressed

Supplies

  • Makey Makey kit
  • Foam
  • 2 Wires
  • Foil
  • Cardboard
  • Card stock
  • Exacto knife
  • Tape

Poke a hole in the middle of a piece of foam.

Thread a stripped wire through the foam, leaving a long side hanging off the bottom.

image.jpg

Place a piece of copper tape upside down on the foam and stick the wire overtop.

image.jpg

Cover the wire and copper with a piece of tin foil.

image.jpg

Cut up card stock and layer to make a thick border around the tin foil foam sheet.

image.jpg

Tape said border down.

Get a new piece of cardboard and place a sheet of tin foil atop it.

image.jpg

Poke a hole through the border then thread a stripped wire through the hole. Put another piece of copper tape underneath the wires edge.

Place the cardboard on top of the tape and then seal with tape.

Lastly, attach the wires hanging off with alligator clips to a Makey Makey and attach the circuit to the computer. On Makey Makey connect sounds to the button so when you press the button, it plays!
