Makey Makey Beginner Football Guide
My instructable is an interactive site where you can read and learn about the 4 most important positions in football, the running back, the quarterback, the cornerback, and the wide receiver. My target demographic is anyone trying to grasp a basic understanding of football, I believe my project can give a thorough understanding of these 4 positions. Someone would find this useful because it provides a basic understanding of the 3 positions, not too complicated but complete enough that the reader can understand more about football.
Supplies
Supplies
Empty DVD player
Tape
4 football action figures and a referee action figure
Printed out football field
Conductive material
Programming Scratch
Upload a football field as a backdrop and a quarterback sprite
Coding the Sprite
Code quarterback sprite to be at a certain position when flag clicked and to say the job of a quarterback when certain button is pressed. Ex: when up arrow is pressed, the quarterback sprite will say the job of the quarterback.
Showing It in Action
Create a new backdrop for the quarterback, import a gif of the quarterback in action on the new backdrop. Use a command to show that gif when a certain number is pressed. Ex: when 1 key is pressed, switch backdrop to quarterback in action. In the backdrop, the gif will play.
Repeat the Process
Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 for other positions such as receiver, running back, etc. Remember to put the positions in a sensible place on the field compared to the other positions
Making the Project
Get an old DVD player, optimally with the clear covering on it. Print out a football field online, the size of the area of the DVD player. Insert the printed field inside of the DVD player.
Putting the Players In
Get football action figures, no more than the size of a glue stick. Use conductive material to surround football players. Then tape them onto the field, make sure the players are placed relative to the other players and their respective position
Completing the Circuit
Add an additional conductor to complete circuit
