Make Your Own Whiteboard and Custom Calendar

Some calendars give you the week starting with Sunday, some starting Monday and so on. I like to have my weekend front and centre for me to see and then the rest of the week can appear in its proper place after the weekend.

If you work from Tuesday to Saturday as many retailers do, you might want your calendar to start with Tuesday or set your Sunday and Monday "weekend" apart as my custom calendar shows.

You might want a whiteboard for notes (or maybe one in every room) and the ones in the stores are ungainly or too big etc. Well make your own, and make it the size you want and make it set up the way you want.

Lets Get Started

Once you have designed your calendar or "whiteboard", then off you go to the stationary or copy store and get them to laminate the sheet and presto mesto you have your own custom made whiteboard.

I have shown you a "whiteboard" made from a file folder. It is quite large as I used a large file folder but it is difficult to find a laminator that can handle that size. On the other hand if you want a whiteboard in the bathroom, one that is 8 1/2 x 11 inches might be the right size to outline to a child the process for cleaning their teeth and a column(s) to check off that they have done each step. Another 8 1/2 x 11 could list the bathroom chores, a column for a name and a column(s) to check off, and so on. Laundry room white board can list a schedule for cleaning chores and so on.

I used cardstock to make the calendar and that can allow you to use colours. I have a few of these custom calendars. One of them just listed those things that happen every week such as the swimming times, gym hours, regular meetings and so on.

I keep those stickers that come with some calendars and either apply them on top of the laminate or if appropriate under the laminate.
