Make Your Own Flower Corsages

Buying flowers for a wedding are extremely expensive. Flowers, especially arranged flowers are thousands of dollars depending on how many flowers you want to have. To cut down on cost many brides have been choosing to buy their flowers in bulk and arrange the flowers themselves.

One of the common flower pieces in a wedding are corsages for the mothers of the bride and groom. Some brides are worried about making their own corsages because they are afraid they will come out wrong, but here is an easy way to make some great looking wrist corsages!

Here is what will be needed for flower corsages.

Flowers - both the main flower and some filler flowers
Floral Tape

Scissors

A bucket of water

Ribbon

(Hot Glue Gun)

The best way to start is to choose the flowers wanted for each corsage. This will give time for you to choose the best flowers for the arrangement.

Lay the chosen flowers on the tables.

Once all the flowers for the corsages were chosen, it was time to start the arrangement.

You might be hesitant about arranging these flowers if you have little to no experience, but here is a great trick. Start with a grouping of flowers in the middle. This will be there center of the boutonniere and the show piece. On either side of the boutonniere symmetrically place some filler flowers.

Don't go overboard on the arrangement. Simplicity is key.

When you are happy with how the flowers look use some of the floral tape and tape around the stems tight enough so the flowers won't move around.

Once the bunch is complete its time to connect the flowers to the wristlet. What to look for is the metal piece and the two metal wings on either side of the corsage.

What will be left is a small grouping of flowers will a lot of stem. The next step is to cut the stem so it only has a small stem at the end. Its time to cut the stem so it is short.

Place the stem in the bucket of water and cut while the stems are underwater. This will with flower's water absorption and make the flowers last longer.

When you are done, have a space available in the fridge to store the corsage until the big day. This will keep the flowers as fresh as possible until the big day arrives. (I suggest don't do the corsages too far ahead of time).

Finally when the big day arrives they will be ready to go and look great!
