Word of caution, a small but significant number of people can have severe allergic reactions to Latex. If you are unsure, please apply a small amount of latex to the inside of the your elbow and keep it there for at least one hour. If there is no rash, itching, swelling or difficulty breathing remove the latex and continue. If there is any reaction at all, remove the latex and seek medical help! When applying latex, make sure that the area is FREE OF HAIR or that you have a high tolerance for pain!
MATERIALS NEEDED!
Three white Straws
Liquid Latex or Flexible Sealer

Straws
STEP 1:
Take three white straws large straws and cut them into 3 equal pieces of 2"-3" sections. Take the Spirit Gum and apply to one side of each straw. Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute and stick the straws together in a pyramid shape. Set aside.
Latex Skin
STEP 2:
Take a sheet of Latex Skin (Buy in a store or make your own) and cut a square just large enough to wrap around the three straws you glued together. Brush a little latex onto the straws. Allow to partially dry. Wrap latex skin around the straws. Pull tight. Brush a little latex onto the outer edge of the skin to seal it shut. Allow latex to dry completely before proceeding.
Jagged Bone
STEP 3:
Take a sharp pair of scissors and cut one end of the straw bone so it appears jagged. Scoop a small amount of Nose and Scar Wax into the jagged end of your straw bone. Use your finger to smooth out the wax. Coat wax with liquid latex and allow to dry. Take your Bruise or Trauma Stack and use a combination of the red and brown to give the jagged end the appearance of bone marrow. Powder with a colorless powder to set the creme makeup. Set aside.
Applying Nose and Scar Wax
STEP 4:
Start with clean, dry, hair free skin. Apply the spirit gum in the area where you want the compound fracture to be, applying the Spirit Gum to a slightly larger area than the actual wound will be. Allow to become tacky before proceeding. Make to small ropes out of Nose and Scar Wax. Apply them to spirit gum in an elongated circle. Place a small amount of nose and scar wax into the center of the circle.
Sculpting Nose and Scar Wax
STEP 5:
Take your makeup spatula or Popsicle stick and begin to gently press the edges of the nose and scar wax into the skin, away from the center of the circle. Place the bone into the center of the wax circle. Place another small rope across the end of the bone that is attached to the skin. Press this wax into the bone and the wax circle.
Smoothing Wax
Step 6:
Take a Q tip and dip it into the Spirit Gum Remover and gently rub it all over the Nose and Scar Wax. This will remove all the marks in the Wax and help to blend the wax into your skin. Once all the marks are removed, gently wipe off excess Spirit Gum Remover with a soft tissue.
Sealing It All Up
Step 7:
Once the Wax is smoothed out and wiped down, take the Flexible Sealer or Liquid Latex and and cover the entire area of wax and at least 1/4" of the surrounding skin. If you choose latex, please make sure that the area is HAIR FREE! You can also cover the bottom part of the straw bone with latex or sealer to help secure it! Allow to dry completely before proceeding!
Adding Color
Step 8:
Once the area is dry, take a Trauma Stack or Bruise Wheel and color the area around the bone. I usually use a Stipple sponge and pat the colors out with my finger tip. Once it is colored to your satisfaction, take the Colorless powder and powder the entire area. Use a powder puff to press the Colorless powder into the makeup. Brush off the excess with a large makeup brush. This "sets" the cream makeup and makes it harder to smear.

Blood Details
Step 9:
Once the makeup is powdered and "set", take your makeup spatula or Popsicle stick and gently lift your fake bone up. Fill in under bone with the Thick Blood or Fresh Scab. Smear some on your fake bone too! Add Stage blood for that freshly broken bone look!

STEP 10:
Clean up, Latex and Flexible Sealer can be safely pealed off after it dries. Nose and scar wax can be scraped off gently with a Popsicle stick. Spirit Gum remover will take off any excess Wax and the Spirit gum used to attach your FX.
Sit back and enjoy the screams and gasps!
