This is a DIY toy, simple to make, and fun to play or "piddle" with. It is a great exerciser for the arms and wrist and teaches rhythm. Warning: don't let your kids play with it, you won't get it back.

Supplies

1 wooden board about 1" by 4" by about a foot.

1 rubber squishable ball - not too hard, not too soft.

1 piece of nylon string.

1 washer

Pretty easy build here.

1. Poke a hole all the way through the ball. Then thread the string through the ball. You can tape the string to a barbeque spit and push it through the ball. Put a washer on the string and tie a double knot.

2. Drill two holes in the board as shown in the picture. A small hole in the end of the board and a larger one through the side that intersects the smaller hole.

OR EVEN EASIER: instead of drilling the holes, just screw an eyescrew into the end of the board.

3. Push the string through the small hole and then the big hole in the board and tie a knot. Double the knot to make sure it does not pull through the board. (OR tie the string to the eyescrew if you go that route.)

Done pretty much but you can cut a couple pieces away from the board to make it into a kind of handle for small hands. Wrap tape around the handle would be cool.

The last picture shows my original piddle paddle using an eyescrew and cutting a kind of handle.

Then just piddle with it as shown in the video.

Practice a while and you do get better and faster.
