Make a Nerf Laser Targeting System From the Tactical Light
So I had seen somewhere on the internet someone who put a laser pointer into the Nitefinder EX-3 to replace the "red light beam" and it looked quite interesting. after failing to find that mod again, I decided to make my own.
This project will cost maximum 15 dollars (Canadian), I used a dollar store laser pointer, but if you wish to butcher a DVD recorder or an expensive laser pointer go ahead, but I have no instructions on how to integrate those so it's up to you.
I bought the Nerf Tactical Light for maybe 8-10 dollars(Canadian) max. you can find this at Toys'R'Us or Zellers or probably any place that sells Nerf Blasters. I decided to use this instead of the Nitefinder as now I can attach a laser pointer to any Nerf gun with a tactical rail, but I will probably be putting up a new Nitefinder mod soon

Take Apart the Nerf Tactical Light
Putting it on the side that has the screws facing up, begin to unscrew each one. You can either take the screws out and put them in a bag, or magnet or however you'd like to, but I just unscrew each one and then take the top off, leaving the screws in the holes
for now I left the batteries out, but you can add them later for testing
I then took a flathead screwdriver and pried the light that was in there out, its okay to be rough because its melted in there a bit, so you need to break it out
Once the light is out, cut the wires right where they're soldered to the light, and remove the orange casing with the two + signs on each side so the wires are free.

Taking Apart the Laser Pointer
Take off the head and tail of the laser pointer, and remove any batteries.
Then, as you did with the light, stick a screwdriver into the side of the laser pointer at the Head end and create a grasping point for the needlenose pliers. After you have a point, begin to unwrap the thin metal casing from the actual device, which should only take about an inch and half of stripping at most. you can discard the casing afterwards.

Plastic Casing/Alignment
Take the piece that housed the the original Tactical Light light, and cut it right at the base of the head. the head for the casing can be kept for an optional step later on, but the neck that has the two + signs on each side MUST be kept.
after cutting, slip the wires back into the + sign piece, and put the cut end facing the battery casing.

Wiring
After the wires have been slipped into the plastic orange casing and stripped for 1 cm, take the Black wire and hook it around the lower set of ...prongs(?) on the bottom of the laser pointer device. twist the wire so it keeps a constant connection, and then you can twirl it around the spring and have it go through there to keep it sturdier. secure with tape.
then take the stripped red wire, and the laser device, and place the red wire so it is touching the metallic head(not the threads, but the round metal piece before that) and just wedge that into the orange + sign piece.
if you have some of the stripped red wire sticking out and some inside the piece, when the device is wedged in the wire will maintain a constant connection with the positive part of the device and that will make it so that to turn off or on the laser pointer, you can use the Off/On switch on the back of the Tactical Light
if you want, you CAN solder the wires into place to ensure a more definate connection, but make sure you don't solder on a part of the head piece that stops it from being wedged into the + Sign Piece

OPTIONAL: Maintaining Appearance
This step is optional, and is just to maintain the original appearance of the outside of the Tactical Light.
First take the head of the + Sign piece you cut off, and remove the ring of plastic on the inside. after you are done doing that, screw it back onto the Lens piece. then place this in its original place and over top the laser device.

Putting It Back Together
After all is done, make sure the + sign piece is in the two slots to make it stable, then screw the top piece back on.
You may want to test it out by putting in batteries and turning the switch to on to make sure the wires are connected.
After everything is back on and screwed together, you now have a Nerf Laser Targeting System that can attach to any Nerf Blaster that has a tactical rail. If you have any Questions or Problems, leave a comment and I will try to get back to you ASAP
