It's time to make something for yourself, family, friends and relatives. I know you want to Do-it-Yourself (DIY) leather wallet. This wallet is made easy for you to try at home. You will be needing basic tools of leather crafting but you can make this with basic tools you can find at home. Constructing this wallet will be your first step into loving leather crafting. For this design, I used a chrome tanned leather 1.8mm to 2.0mm (4-50z). This is a good leather for a project since it will hold the pieces in place and it will hold its structure.

Now, LET'S START MAKING THOSE LEATHER WALLET.

Go ahead, download and print your pattern on a A4 Format. After this, cut out the template. Make sure to be careful on cutting your templates. Cut the pattern according to the lines on it. Just take your time and cut those templates and we're ready to go.

Lay Your Pattern Onto the Leather

Lay your patterns on the leather and put a tape on it. I used a masking tape for it to lay flat on the leather. Make sure that the tape you are using are not super sticky. On this project, the tape I used will not leave any marks on the leather since the adhesive is not super sticky. Just pin those pattern onto the leather and will go to the next step.

Cut the Leather

In this step, the only important thing to do is to make sure that your blade is sharp and be able to clearly cut the pattern on the leather. In this pattern, the holes and lines are clear and ready for punching holes and cutting.

Now, use a punch tool or nail to punch the holes. After this, clearly cut the pattern on the leather.

Put Snaps and Rivets

This can be a little tricky. The first thing to do is to put snap buttons on your leather and then the rivets.

Snap Button Set-up

You will need a snap setter tool or a screwdriver. I used a 12mm snap button but you can use any type of buttons on these project.

Rivets Set up

In this project, you will only need a hammer and flat surface. Put the stem of the rivet on the inside of the leather and put the cap of the rivet on the outside of the leather. Then punch those four (4) sides rivets on the leathers and you're done.
