Homemade Foaming Handwash Hack! (Video)

In this project, I am going to show you how to make your own foamy hand-wash using normal soap liquid.

This is what you need;

1) Foaming hand wash bottle ( I am using a Palmolive foam hand wash bottle)

2) Normal hand wash liquid (Any one will work)

3) Water

4) measuring cup

The foaming hand-wash bottle pump has a special mechanism which forces out normal soap liquid as foam. But it doesn't work very well with very thick liquid so we have to dilute it.

1- Mix 50ml of soap liquid with 200 ml of normal tap water (you can use distilled water if you want). We are making as 250 ml solution as this is the size of the foaming container.

Shake the bottle gently so the solution is evenly mixed. And you are ready to go.

Believe it or not, It's that simple.

Start pumping and you'll see it dispenses the same foam it did with its original liquid.

It works great and leaves the hands smelling amazing.

Moving on to the savings part in the next step.. Keep reading.

Before I forget, You can tweak the recipe to bring it up to your desired result.

You can mix 100ml of soap liquid with 150ml of water to make it creamier and richer.

And you can also add essential oils and other fragrances if you wish.

Now we can move on to the savings part :D

1- 1 Bottle of standard 500ml soap liquid gives us 280 hand washes.

2- 1 bottle of 250 ml foam liquid (which we just made) gives us 290 hand washes.

Since we just used one tenth of the 500ml, we will multiply it with 10

so 1 500ml soap bottle turned into foaming liquid gives us 2900 hand washes.

Thats 10 times more than using the standard technique. Which means you are SAVING 90% of whatever amount you were spending on hand hygiene. (Refer to the pictures for some money calculations)

And you can reuse the bottle for as long as you want. Its just a one time investment. (I bought the foaming hand-wash for about 3.5 dollars)

This trick is not limited to hand wash liquid. You can try it with any thick washing liquid like

- Shower gel

- Baby shampoo

- Face-wash

- Dish washing liquid

And what not.

You can also make a stash in a big container and store it for later use instead of making new batches every time.
