Make Your Own Crochet Oval Basket

I am a Big Fan of Crochet Baskets. I absolutely love the fact that they just work up so fast and are very easy to make.There are so many ways that you can use Crochet Baskets.Use them to organize your whole house.

Today I am going to share a simple pattern for Oval Crochet Basket. I have used T-Shirt Yarn to make this Basket and Black T-shirt yarn for the Border.T-shirt yarn is a great choice for baskets because it's extra thick and sturdy. But you can trying making one with any yarn of your choice...... Chunky Yarn..... Macrame Chord....Jute Twine... or just use Two strands of yarn to give it a bulky texture. Just remember to change the hook size according to the yarn you would like to use.

• T-shirt Yarn
• 10mm Crochet Hook

Start with a Slip Knot.

Chain 12.

1 Double Crochet in the 3rd Chain from the Hook.

1 Double Crochet in each of the next stitches untill you reach the last stitch.

6 Double Crochet in the last stitch.

Continue working on the other side. 1 Double Crochet in each of the stitches untill the last stitch.

6 Double Crochet in the Last Stitch.Slip Stitch on the 1st Double Crochet.

Start with Chain 2.

1 Double Crochet on each stitch untill you reach the 6 Double Crochets.

2 Double Crochet each on the 6 Double Crochet Set.

Working on the other side, continue with 1 Double Crochet in rest of the stitches untill you reach the next 6 Double Crochet set.

Again , 2 Double Crochet each on the 6 Double Crochet set.

Slip Stitch to end the round.

Start with Chain 2.1 Double Crochet each on the next stitches untill you reach the corner.(i.e. the 1 stitch of the 2 Double crochet)

1 Double Crochet (on the 1st Double Crochet of 6 Double Crochet set)

2 Double Crochet on the next stitch.

Repeat(1 Double Crochet, 2 Double Crochet)* on the rest of the 6 Double Crochets set.

1 Double Crochet each on the rest of the stitches untill you reach the start of the next Corner.

Repeat the same on this corner too:-
1 Double Crochet (on the 1st Double Crochet of 6 Double Crochet set)2 Double Crochet on the next stitch.Repeat(1 Double Crochet, 2 Double Crochet)* on the rest of the 6 Double Crochets set.

Slip Stitch to end the round.

I stopped with the increases at this round.

My base of the basket measures 5'' Breadth and 10'' Length.

If you want a bigger basket, then you can continue with increase round untill you reach the size you need.

Just keep repeating Round 3 untill the desired size is reached.

I am sharing the Video Tutorial I made on How to Make a Crochet Oval Base.

1 Single Crochet each in the Back Loops only .

This round onwards you will be working in continuous rounds.

Keep Working 1 Single Crochet in each stitch around untill you reach the size needed.

I used a Black T-shirt Yarn for the last round.

Weave off the yarn ends.

There You Go.......!!!! Your Basket is Ready to be Used...!!!!!
