Make Your Own Corn Chips

I like corn chips but often hesitate purchasing them in the store. The are too salty, too oily, and too expensive.
I found this recipe on the web
This is my method.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. You will need:
- cookie sheet
- garlic powder
- salt
- measuring spoons
- package of corn tortillas
- coconut oil
- a double boiler
- a large bowl
- scissors
Cut the Tortillas

Cut 2 to three tortillas at a time. Cut in half first then cut each half in thirds at an angle from the middle.
Prepare Oil

Measure 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and place in double boiler. (remember to put water in the bottom pan)
Heat on the stove top enough to melt the coconut oil.
Add Oil

Slowly add oil to the chips mixing gently so you don't break the chips. Be sure all the chips are coated.
Spread Chips

Spread the chips evenly on the cookie sheet in one layer. Sprinkle lightly garlic powder and salt on the chips.
Bake Chips

Place the cookie sheet in the oven on the bottom shelf. Set the timer for 15 minutes.
The Chips Are Done!

Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and let stand for a few minutes. Empty the chips into a bowl. Enjoy!
