Make Your Very Own Plush Kinect!
Make a cuddly version of your kinect with fleece and googly eyes! He won't be any help with your depth sensing projects or games, but he's really cute and won't refuse a hug.
Materials needed:
1/4 yard of black polar fleece
polyfill for stuffing (one small bag should be more than enough)
black thread and needle

Assemble Pattern Pieces
Download the pattern file and either print at actual size, or draw your own pattern pieces from the measurements on large pieces of paper. (They're really easy shapes to draw if you'd rather go that route)
Lay all the pieces out on your fabric and pin/weight them down to cut them out.

Start Sewing!
Sew the two base pieces together by machine, right sides together, wrong side facing out, and leaving a 2" gap to use for turning it right side out and stuffing later. (If you're using polar fleece there isn't really a right and wrong side, both sides are exactly the same.)
Sew the front, sides, and back pieces together by machine, creating a big oddly shaped ring.
Then, baste (or pin) the top and bottom pieces on each side before sewing those. Basting leaves less chance of getting stabbed with pins while you run it through the machine, so I always baste stich this kind of thing :)
Don't forget to leave a gap along one of the bottom seams for turning and stuffing! A little over 2" of space should be enough to turn it right side out and fit the stuffing in.

Stuffing and Adding Character!
Turn both the base and the sensor pieces right side out through the gap. Be extra careful with the corners. Trim any extra fabric to avoid bunching.
Stuff each piece with polyfill. Check that the base isn't over stuffed by balancing the sensor piece on top of it and making sure it stands before sewing it up. If it doesn't balance, take a little bit of stuffing out and try again.
Once both pieces are stuffed, use a needle and thread to sew up the gaps.
Sew or glue the base onto the sensor. (I sewed up each outer edge to attach the two pieces.)
Then, plan out the placement of your senor's eyes. Use a hot glue gun to attach the eyes. Press down on each while the glue is cooling to get a good bond. Make sure to anchor it again something so it doesn't fall over while you glue. That's what the pin cushion and spool of thread are doing in my photo.
