This method is very quick so it is ideal for large batches.

If you are making a smaller batch then you can go more intricate in the design

Break the Chopsticks Apart

Simple enough.

if you want, you can sand the edges just to smooth away those stray splinters

You can also fine tune the shape here if you like

I did try to shape a pair on the belt sander and the result was pretty good but if you don't have one or need to make a whole lot then I would recommend regular sanding paper

Decorate Your Wand

Here you can go as simple or ornate as you want

Do try to make the tip a little more rounded

And go around the entire stick to create a pattern

Anything you add is going to appear later

Allow the Glue to Dry

This actually takes really quick. Do make sure that they are upright and not lying down as it will distort the glue

While you are waiting for them to dry, you can lay down some newspaper outside or in a well ventilated area

Paint the Wands

I used black and white spray paint because it was what I had

You can use brown spray paint if you wish

Or even regular paint if you like.

However you want to colour them is up to you

I did different things with the paints. Some I painted in just one colour. Others I did one full colour, allowed it to dry and added a fine spray of the other colour over for some texture

Allow Them to Dry

At this point you can also check if anything needs a touchup

but honestly the texture and patterns make each one beautifully unique

Add Gold Highlights

I had a gold permanent marker which I then just ran over the glued bits with

This helped make the wands really pop and make the patterns more visible.

And as simple as that, you have some wands.
