Make Money Feeding Samosas to People at Any Music Festival (True Story)

AMANSAMOSAS012.JPG

Vision: All i wanted to do is to challenge myself and feed as many people I can at a music festival i was working at and also to make some extra money.

I asked the people organising the music festival and they agreed to let me sell it if I give them a 20% cut from whatever I make. And Then I got a food handeling permit which was $15 for 2 hours of questioning, super easy.

Find the Things You Need.

I followed this recipe here http://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/samosa-recipe-pu...

I got potatoes from the farm I work at. The lady at the farm said she would sell me the potatoes for $1 per pound if i dig them myself. So i did that and dug around 25lbs. Also she let me pick plums from her plum tree and with that I made plum chutney.

All the rest of the produce I got from the local store. Also I got an electric fryer on amazon to fry the samosas in.

Setup Work Station

My Samosa station was setup outside where I had a stove, my fryer, couple of trays, a rolling pin, and few bowls for the filling and dough.

I designed this quickly on adobe illustrator and printed few pages from the library in town and cut each one out.

After You Have Made Samosas, Hire Friends to Help You Sell Them.

I hired a couple of friends to help me sell the samosas while I prepared them. Each one of them got 20% of total amount they brought in.

Have Fun While You Are Working.

I was playing my ukulele around while my friends were selling the Samosas for me. We ended up selling 800 Samosas. Everyone was selling it at a different price and we had few deals like 3 for $10 and 7 for $20.

Everything sold out. And Everyone made money. We made friends with a lot of amazing people and spent some time with the band members.

Looking forward to do this again soon! Hope you liked it.

Thank You :)
