Magnetic Levitation With Arduino

Schwebender Magnet.jpg

In this video I build a levitated magnet. The video should serve as a guide to build it yourself. I show technical details, circuit diagrams, Arduino codes and much more. I also show my workflow for making circuit boards. An electromagnet was wound with 0.5mm copper wire. A Hall sensor was used to query the position of the magnet. This reacts to magnetic fields. The electromagnet is controlled with an arduino. You can download all 3d printed parts on thingiverse or prusarprinters. I hope I was able to answer all questions as best as possible.

Winding the coil. I use 0.5mm Kufper wire.

Here you can see the Hall Sensor. A Hall sensor can measure a magnetic field. It detects the distance to the floating object.

Assembly of the parts. A thread was cut directly into the 3D printed part.

The video describes the function of the Hall sensor.

The control takes over an Arduino. I have tested 2 control techniques. A simple 2 point controller and a more complex PID controller.

Here you can see the circuit diagram. In the video I show my workflow for creating circuit boards. I used a PCB etcher for this.
