Magnetic Knife Block

This build was a request from a friend, he had seen something like it commercially available, but wanted a specific color and size.

There are 1/2 neodymium magnets embedded a couple millimeters from the surface to stabilize the blades and keep them riding against the wood rather than the acrylic.

The edges of the acrylic panels where flame polished with a MAPP torch to give it a nice professional look, and the metal standoffs were just store bought from my local plastics supplier.
